Dossiers discutés, décisions prises et leurs impacts sur la Division du Québec:
(Disponible uniquement en anglais) This year’s National Criminal Justice Section Meeting took place in Vancouver, British Columbia on April 13 and 14, 2014. During the meetings, six recently adopted CBA resolutions were discussed in order to have a follow up on their status. These recently adopted resolutions are: Harm Reduction Drug Policy, Accommodating the Disability of FASD to Improve Access to Justice, Preserving Special Consideration for Aboriginal Persons in the Criminal Justice System, Justice in Sentencing, Justice Resources, and Mentally Ill Persons in the Criminal Justice System. Also, there were discussions with regards to this year’s Canadian Legal Conference program in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. As a matter of fact the CBA’s Professional Development Committee approved on March 5, 2014 this year’s program on Human Trafficking. This will be presented in collaboration with the National Section on International Law and the National Criminal Justice Section. In addition, the National Criminal Justice Section will be partnering with the Privacy & Access Law Section on the issue of ‘’Cyberbullying and the law’’ from August 15-17, 2014 at this Canadian Legal Conference. Section budget was reviewed for 2013-2014 and the budget request for 2014-2015 was discussed and analysed. It is also important to mention that lengthy discussions took place regarding Legislation and Law Reform with regards to current legislation and private member Bills such as:
